WHY SHOULD A MAN IN SUCH A STRANGE HAT WITH A BIZARRE NUMERICAL INSIGNIA AND A VERY THREATENING STICK(GEORGE DID LIKE A RELIGION WITH A GOOD HAT BUT THIS PHALLIC SOMBRERO [ AS OPPOSED TO THE URBAN ONE] DOES NOT QUALIFY! NOR DID HE EVER MENTION STICKING A STICK INTO A WOMAN'S HEAD) TELL ANYONE WHAT TO READ??????? WHY IS THE ONE ON THE LEFT LOOKING ASKANCE AND WHAT BEATIFIC VISION IS OUR GREEN BOY ON THE RIGHT EXPERIENCING ?(GOD ONLY KNOWS!)

Weeks ago we received a Star editorial calling for Catholic young people to consider priesthood as a worthy calling. Today we see a graphic depiction of one of the causes of a leadership shortage in the Catholic Church. Linda A. Miller's photo depicts three older male priests. One of them ,our local bishop, is giving "some backup help" to a gifted ,female religious leader during the blessing of the new pastoral center at Christo Rey Church. In Tucson , as in all Catholic communities around the world, there are talented women called to leadership . Imagine any organization, in desperate need of leaders, restricting their" job search "to celibate males(one of the smallest segments of the human community). Perhaps the Star should consider bestowing one of its laudatory flowers on the many Catholic advocacy groups calling for the ordination of single women , married men and women and the legion of already ordained married priests who have left the Catholic priesthood to respond to the call to the married state.

Much like our government this picture depicts the problem with the church. The masses are under represented. Celebate old men in funny hats giving life advice to the married, the widowed, the young, the families, the working class, the gay. It's like the brokerage commercial with the therapist that busts out in Italian. Why get advice from someone who does not understand you?
Right on point once again Pointer. And on that I hereby concede the point on Israel... very disappointed I am.

Jesus saw it in his time and called us sheep without a shepherd ...Ezekiel before him went further and attacked the corrupt shepherds for their exploitation and abandonment...Oh where ,oh where have our good shepherds gone, oh where , oh where can they be?!
