Pointer's Halloween Fun!!???

Ole Pointer decided to have some Halloween fun after he and Chuggo decided to put the crazy other dawgs outside since the three monsters threatened to dismember every little princess and hobo who came a beggin'. So with sweet Chuggo monitoring the nightly theirtube, Pointer camped out under the front picture window reading his NYk'ER ,old dawg glasses and all. The first victim happily approached the door only to be ambushed by an old sob shouting in his best BX Sarcasm: "What do YOU want?"Stunned by the break in the boring ritual , the poor unsuspecting robot and Barbie froze in their tracks. "Well? What do you want?" The robot hid behind Barbie's flimsy costume as the doll cautiously whispered : "Candy?". Why should i give you candy ? i like candy! Why should i give it away? From behind his glamorous shield R2D2 offered : "Because it's Halloween?" (as if his next line would be -isn't it? almost ready to believe his parents , the candy packed stores and all of his known world might have gotten the date wrong). Halloween ! roared the old fool What's that! At this point the defenseless children seemed to be recalling every stranger danger lesson they every received as they stared in panic at their parental escorts( Not the South Bronx Halloween of my 50's childhood when we tricked much more often than the lame treats proferred by our impoverished neighbors with our parents if we had them far, far away) Fortunately these adults(young enough to be my youngest kids) were enjoying the old dope's prank. H-H-H alloween is when kids get, i mean ask for candy... We already went over that he moaned , Tell me why kids get my candy on this Halloween! By that time a new batch of superheroes , rockstars and vampires were crowding the door. Envigorated by my new audience i begged for an answer. Can any of you please tell me why we celebrate Halloween?! A little chicana genie on the outskirts of the curious yet candy craving throng encroaching the old SOB's doorway spoke up confidently enough to melt even an old Halloween Grinch's heart: it's to celebrate the dead. All fell silent at the mention of all of our greatest fear and fascination... And the old bastard thrilled the confused kiddie crowd of costumed extortionists by his satisfied exclamation. Now that's something to celebrate! Candy for everybody! And the overflowing basket of his most coveted candies were thrown out on that porch as Frankenstein,Batgirl and a panoply of elves and goblins dove as if a birthday pinata had burst in their midst. And above the din of the night's sweetest wrestling could be heard the ancient's cry: Happy Halloween to all and to all a goodnight!

ET MC CRONE SNUBBED BY EDICkTateR TURNS TO POINTER FOR PUBLICATION

ET MC Crone is a Tucsonan elevator operator , a rare breed and some would say a rare bird while others find a queer duck and still others label by appellations that seem to rhyme with duck and are synonymous with maternal... This fowl of a different feather came to Pointer on bended webbed feet and wings akimbo to lament the sad fact that incisive letters to the editor of the local Dully newspimper (after all they endorsed kYL who kills Americans in RAQ as in raq 'em up ,i'll break the bunch of them!) have been tragically ginored. Here's two of Mc Crone's rejectedmissives(good name for a rock group)...tell me if they miss the mark....

Dear E-dick -tater,
Pope Benedict the XVl again rightfully denounced the "egregious crimes" of clerical sexual abuse recently. As usual however he fails to acknowledge abuse of women and discrimination against gay and lesbian persons in the Catholic Church. The refusal to grant women ordination and the continual condemnation of homosexuality as "objectively disordered and... intrinsically evil" are egregious violations of human rights. The Catholic Church over the last 100 years has articulated an eloquent defense of human rights on issues ranging from its condemnation of war to the dignity of the poor and immigrants. Why does this brave social justice theology of humanity's sharing in the divine "image and likeness" stop short on issues of gender and sexual relations. Fondly,ET Mc Crone Elevator operator

Vice-President Dunkin' Dick Cheney agreed with neo-con radio host Scott Hennen that giving a terrorism suspect " a dunk in water is a no-brainer ,if it can save lives". Cheney went on to deny that this proposed dunking had anything to do with torture. What did it refer to? Two possibilities come to mind. Perhaps Cheney was advocating the medieval test for verifying if someone was a witch. You see terrorists like witches float. Another possibility may be that with the neo-conservative affinity with Christian fundamentalism this was a reference to baptism by immersion. Odd how both of these practices like the Cheney-Hennen compact have to do with salvation. Moistly yours, ET Mc Crone Elevator operator

weds night ...10/25

Psalm 80:

Vs. 1-3 : Find the introductory petition and the address to which it is attached......

Note the invocation of the deity-not unlike the epic poet's invocation of the Muse- is the call to the Most High who is remembered (praise is to never forget) as the source of the great good fortune of the past. If you have no remembrance of having been blessed, is it possible that your lament will never be as deep and your praise will never be as high?

Find the verbs that illustrate the action of faithful petition for the Yahwistic believer...

Do you find here a truly personal God....

Vs. 4-7: Here find the complaint... Is the complaint rooted in the life of the believer or in the believer's relationship with the divine...

Note the use of the address ...Thou...Thou...Thou...: "The accusation of God is the nerve center of all the lamentations in the Psalms". Suffering is not thought to come from some ungodly irritant but instead "in God alone".

Suggest the significance of the "bread of tears" and " the cup of tears"...

See Lamentations 3:15-16

Vs 6 provides the 3rd element of the lament:

Find mention of the enemy and its mockery of the plaintiff...

Vs 7 marks the refrain ,labeled by Watson in Classical Hebrew Poetry as " a variant refrain"(295): see vs 3,7,19. Westermann notes that this refrain is not a mechanical chorus at the end of each stanza but instead a meaningful rejoinder to fit the sense of the particular petitions to which it is connected.

Vs. 8-11: "...Past personal experiences of God's goodness and faithfulness" are the foundation of faith to which the complaintant grasps tightly(emunah-Hebrew word for faith).

Find the vinedresser imagery. Why is it a particularly efffective representation of the God of Israel's saving actions?

Why does Westermann think this image is more effective as "history" than as lyrical symbol?

Can you find the "the historical creed...the basic confession of faith of the people of israel" in these verses?

How does vs 11 bring us back to the complaint?

Vs. 12-13: Find the question of vs 4 and compare it to vs 12...

Interpret the accusation against the vinedresser as planter and now destroyer...

How does vs 13 re-introduce the enemy and to what effect?

Compare the sequences of 12-13 and then 14 ; and 4-6 and then 7...

Vs. 14-15: From whence shall salvation come?

Vs. 16-17: In the battle between enemy and lamenter , where does the Psalmist place emphasis?

Vs.18-19 : do you agree with Westermann that this vow is the true pledge of allegiance free of " a bargain promising ...a recompense for ...deliverance" (34).

GLENDALE LIONS AROUSE NEOCONCHRIST PURITANISM

Published: 10.22.2006
Lion statues deemed too risqué for children's park in Glendale
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Eight lion statues with bared anatomy will have to find a new kingdom.
The statues guard a children's water-fountain park and sit across from what will soon be Arizona's largest cineplex in Glendale, just north of the new University of Phoenix Stadium.
The concrete beasts are depicted raising their rear ends in the air, each hovering over a terror-stricken ram in what some perceive as a sexually suggestive pose. The lions' tails are swished to the side, leaving their, er, pride in plain view.
Developer Ellman Cos., which is building the Westgate shopping and entertainment plaza, said the statues will be gone before the center welcomes its first customers next month.
"We're removing more than the anatomy," company spokes-man Jeffrey Hecht said. "We're removing all the lions."
Hecht said Ellman was not pressured to get rid of the beasts. "(The statues) represent too much of a gargoyle or medieval feel that was out of place from the Arizona Deco architecture of the center," he said.
Construction workers have been making jokes about the lions, but at least one doesn't think they should be scrapped.
Children wouldn't give the lions a second thought, said Biff Bennett, who installs sprinkler systems at the site.
"If it's killing a ram, I don't see anything unnatural with that," the Phoenix resident said. "It's a male lion. Are you going to remove the gonads of a lion in the zoo?"
Glendale Councilwoman Joyce Clark said the statues aren't appropriate for a family park. "I can see children getting an instant lesson in the birds and the bees, which maybe their parents wouldn't want them to have," she said.
Hecht said the molded, mass-produced statues were ordered by a landscape architect, and that the company is still deciding whether to replace the statues with public art.
"We're still in the design phase of what we're doing," he said. "We're testing different items and features to see if they will work or not. The general consensus is the lions do not work."

Joyce Clark was arrested that very night performing obscene acts with the sea lions...As she was dragged away by Glendale police she could be heard to scream: If only my neocon hubby had...

HAWAIIAN QUAKE CAUSES BIG BOTHER TO ISLANDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 16, 2006
A Strong Earthquake Rattles Hawaii ; Hula - Hula dancing Gigantor suspected as cause!!!!!!!!!!
By JANIS L. MAGIN and MARIA NEWMAN
HONOLULU, Oct. 15 — A strong earthquake struck the Hawaiian Islands early Sunday, shaking residents and tourists from their sleep, knocking out electrical power to several areas and setting off a landslide that rained boulders and other debris on the major highway of the largest island.
The United States Geological Survey said that the main quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 and that there had been at least a dozen aftershocks, including one that measured 5.8. Officials said the quake was the largest to hit Hawaii since one of magnitude 6.7 in 1983.
Gov. Linda Lingle issued a disaster declaration Sunday afternoon and activated the National Guard, which happened to be conducting a statewide drill this weekend. The governor ordered her cabinet to convene at the headquarters of the Hawaii State Department of Civil Defense, which is in Diamond Head crater in Honolulu, the state capital, on the island of Oahu.
There were no reports of deaths, but there were scores of unconfirmed reports of injuries. Kona Community Hospital had significant damage, and patients were moved to a hotel, officials said.
The lack of electricity hampered communications, and officials could not say exactly how severe the damage was or what the extent of injuries was. The governor urged people to go to work on Monday as usual.
The quake, centered just off the northwest shore of the Island of Hawaii, occurred at 7:07 a.m. local time, officials said. That side of the island contains Kohala, a popular resort area.
The quake and its aftershocks set off fears of a tsunami. But the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a report saying that “no tsunami is expected” because the quake was too deep and that its magnitude was below the tsunami trigger point of 6.9.
Kawaihae Harbor, near the epicenter, was closed because of damage to buildings and a fuel line.
Power was knocked out for hours in many areas, but by midafternoon, it had been restored to Hilo on the Island of Hawaii and to parts of Maui.
Leonid Citer, 50, a photographer from Wayne, N.J., said in a telephone interview that he was on his way to photograph a wedding in Kona when the quake hit. Mr. Citer said he pulled to the side of the road when he felt the shock and debris began to rain down.
“There are rocks and fruit all over the road,” he said. “There are police and firemen at all the major intersections, and they were instructing people to go up as high as they can, elevation-wise, and they are advising them to stay away from the shore.”
Emergency management officials also urged residents and others to stay put if they could, to keep roadways open for emergency vehicles.
Beth Chapman, who co-stars with her husband, Duane Chapman, on the A&E cable reality series “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” said she was at their home in the Portlock section of Oahu when the quakes hit.
“There were two quakes, one at 7:08 this morning and the second one at 7:12,” she said in a telephone interview. “I know because the clock stopped when the second one came.
“I was outside for the second one, and you could hear this strange noise coming from the ocean,” Ms. Chapman said. “Then the ground shook, and there was a huge wave in our swimming pool.”
Airports across the islands switched to emergency backup systems, which allowed inbound flights to land and a few outbound planes to depart. By midday, all flights out of the airports on Honolulu and Maui were canceled, as were flights to Hawaii from the United States mainland. At the airports still in operation, security officials checked luggage manually and agriculture agents used dogs to sniff packages and luggage because X-ray machines were without power.
Officials asked cruise ships to keep guests on board, and ships scheduled to make landfall in Hawaii were asked to head to their next location.
“We’re are dealing with a lot of scared people,” Harry Kim, mayor of Hawaii County, said in a televised interview on KITV.
Governor Lingle was on the Big Island, staying at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, when the building rattled.
“It shook very strongly and knocked the televisions off the bureaus in the hotel,” she said in an interview on KSSK Radio, one of the few broadcast outlets that was not knocked off the air. “TV’s fell, books fell, mirrors fell off the wall.”
Insurance experts said that early reports suggested relatively light damage to homes and businesses and that perhaps the heaviest costs could result from electric power failures in Honolulu and on other islands.
The insurers offered no immediate estimates on overall economic damage, but Robert P. Hartwig, chief economist of the Insurance Information Institute, said payouts for damage from insurance companies for the earthquake probably would be “very modest,” perhaps under $25 million compared with $1.1 billion for one of the least costly hurricanes last year, Hurricane Dennis, which hit Florida in June 2005.
The most costly earthquake in the United States, the Northridge earthquake in Los Angeles in 1994, cost insurers up to $26 billion in today’s dollars. It measured 6.7. By comparison, the insurers paid out $41 billion for damage from Hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Hartwig said that probably no more than 25 percent of homeowners in Hawaii and fewer than 50 percent of businesses had special policies that pay for earthquake damage.
“Right now, it does not look like there is substantial structural damage or major fires,” he said. “And it looks like very modest costs to insurers. It could turn out to be higher if there is considerable damage to foundations and walls that is not immediately obvious.”
Janis L. Magin reported from Honolulu, and Maria Newman from New York. Andrew C. Revkin, Joseph B. Treaster and David Carr contributed reporting from New York.

MORE CANADIAN HUMOR!!!!!!!!!!

An elderly woman walked into the Bank of Canada one morning with a purse full of money. She wanted to open a savings account and insisted on talking to the president of the Bank because, she said, she had a lot of money. After many lengthy discussions (after all, the client is always right) an employee took the elderly woman to the president's office. The president of the Bank asked her how much she wanted to deposit. She placed her purse on his desk and replied, $165,000". The president was curious and asked her how she had been able to save so much money. The elderly woman replied that she made bets. The president was surprised and asked, "What kind of bets?" The elderly woman replied, "Well, I bet you $25,000 that your testicles are square." The president started to laugh and told the woman that it was impossible to win a bet like that. The woman never batted an eye. She just looked at the president and said, "Would you like to take my bet?" "Certainly", replied the president. "I bet you $25,000 that my testicles are not square." "Done", the elderly woman answered. "But given the amount of money involved, if you don't mind I would like to come back at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning with my lawyer as a witness." "No problem", said the president of the Bank confidently. That night, the president became very nervous about the bet and spent a long time in fron t of the mirror examining his testicles, turning them this way and that, checking them over again and again until he was positive that no one could consider his testicles as square and reassuring himself that there was no way he could lose the bet. The next morning at exactly 10 o'clock the elderly woman arrived at the president's office with her lawyer and acknowledged the $25,000 bet made the day before that the president's testicles were square. The president confirmed that the bet was the same as the one made the day before. Then the elderly woman asked him to drop his pants etc. so that she and her lawyer could see clearly. The president was happy to oblige. The elderly woman came closer so she could see better and asked the president if she could touch them. "Of course," said the president. "Given the amount of money involved, you should be 100% sure." The elderly woman did so with a little smile suddenly the president noticed that the lawyer was banging his head against the wall. He asked the elderly woman why he was doing that. She replied, "Oh, it's probably because I bet him $100,000 that around 10 o'clock in the morning I would have the President of the Bank of Canada by the balls!" The origin of this Canadian story is unknown but it brings luck to everyone to whom it is sent. Whoever breaks the chain would definitely be unlucky. Do not keep this letter. And do not send money. Just forward it to five of your friends to whom you wish good luck. Something good will happen to you in the next four days. If the chain is no t broken, you will have good luck during the four days.Even if all you do is make someone laugh, send it on!* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *If you send this page to more than 5 people, you will have good luck for the next 5 years.Best,Reg___________Reggie Marra15 Orchard HeightsNew Milford, CT 06776-3018860-354-9186 / www.integraljourneys.com

UNA VENTANA A EL GENTILHOMBRE Y LA DAMA DE LA CASA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IImagine the gentleman of the house sends this suggestive email to La dama... eat your....hearts out , amigos, you could learn a trick or three from este macho!

A virile, young Italian gentlemen named Guido was relaxing at his favorite bar in Rome when he managed to attract a spectacular young blonde woman. Things progressed to the point where he invited her back to his apartment and, after some small talk, they retired to his bedroom where he rattled her senseless.
After a pleasant interlude he asked with a smile, "So, you finish?"
She paused for a second, frowned, and replied, "No."
Surprised, Guido reached for her and the rattling resumed. This time she thrashed about wildly and there were screams of passion.
The sex finally ends and, again, Guido smiles and asks, "You finish?"
Again, after a short pause, she returns his smile, cuddles closer to him and softly says, "No."
Stunned, but damned if this woman is going to outlast him, Guido reaches for the woman yet again. Using the last of his strength, he barely manages it, but they end together screaming, bucking, clawing and ripping the bed sheets. Exhausted, Guido falls onto his back, gasping.

Barely able to turn his head, he looks into her eyes, smiles`proudly and`asked again, "You finish?"
Barely able to speak, the beautiful blonde whispers in his ear, "No, I Norwegian."

HAS PIC-A_KNEES GOT A PICK FOR UUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Film Dawg saw Lost Embrace and knows you'll take it to your heart. It's a love story in an unique cultural setting : a Buenos Aires Mall dominated by Argentine-Jewish families and a Korean couple with a forbidden love. A father-less son and a son-less father turn Buenos Aires into a Joycean Dublin as they seek roots and progeny after years of loss-physical and emotional. The Argentine accent alone makes this an interesting linguistic experience. But the inter-generational quest for meaning draws every life 's lost embrace to a Homeric home!
